There I am, see the person with the number? Yeehaw! I feel fantastic and accomplished. Though I came in two minutes after the three-hour mark, I’m still proud of myself.
I must admit that I almost threw in the towel at mile ten. Yes, my moderate injury began to get the best of my psyche. Making matters more intense, the Fluid and water stations were out of cups–NO! Yes. Oh yes indeed. This was after stopping twice and walking for several minutes contemplating failure to complete the race.
Instead of allowing the anger rushing through me to cancel me out all together, I used said anger to plunge on to the finish line . Consequently–in a strange way–I’m grateful I became angry.
Now it’s time to plan for my next race, only this time I’ll run for a different cause, a more meaningful one, and fair far better both mentally and physically.
Until the next time, I wish you all well and achievement of your own goals.
Ciao for now,
